EAN's Role at ESCAIDE

🏛️ EAN's Partnership Legacy

EAN has played a key role in shaping ESCAIDE into Europe’s leading epidemiology conference. Working closely with ECDC, we helped it grow from a small meeting to a major international event that welcomes more than 800 participants from over 50 countries each year.

The EAN Board member sits on the ESCAIDE Scientific Committee, and the EAN Board awards prizes for the Best oral and poster presentations at the conference, and since 2012, has also run a highly popular Photo contest. EAN members act as moderators and chairs for oral and poster sessions, as judges for prizes, and innovate with ideas such as BarCamp@ESCAIDE. They volunteer their time, ideas and enthusiasm to ensure that each year all these activities are a success.

But ESCAIDE is also a social event. As alumni, we look forward to ESCAIDE each year and to the EAN Drinks and Dinner social event, which gives a welcome chance to meet the new fellows and to reconnect with old friends and colleagues, keeping strong links across the community of field epidemiologists and public health microbiologists.
